Eli Borrowman is an artist and designer currently working in Chicago. Website: www.fermentedfruit.com This blog features her current work, sewing projects, and thoughts. Her clothing is inspired by her everyday desire for durable yet artistically designed clothing to serve as function and decoration, Art, the Environment (by using a lot of recycled materials), and the tradition of sewing fostered by my mother, grandmother, and all the women in my family.

My art work reflects upon experience with the horrible and the foul that live laced between the sweet, warm, and loving moments. Tenuous are there boundaries.
Words are inadequate here; they can't be translated to my body. Flesh feels, thrusts, and reverberates, messages without words.
My work is the struggle to convey these feelings.

When I am not working in the studio or busy at my sewing table I enjoy spending time with my two children (my babe-kitties) Lady and Tara, eating tasty food, and moonlighting with my best buds, as karaoke diva’s at our favorite bars in Chicago and St. Louis, where my family resides.
